Issue an HENNGE Device Certificate (Modern view)

Target

Intended for administrators of HENNGE Access Control.

Purpose

To issue HENNGE Device Certificates by administrators.

Notes

  1. This article is based on product specifications as of November 2024 and is subject to change without notice.
  2. Administrator privileges for HENNGE Access Control are required for actual screen verification and configuration changes.
  3. For access to the administration screen, please refer to the following article:

Procedure

1. To issue HENNGE Device Certificates, access [Device Certificates] - [Certificate List] from the left menu of the HENNGE Access Control administration screen.

2. Select [ + Register Certificate ].

3. Enter the necessary information for certificate issuance.

Only the number of device certificates specified in your contract can be issued at once.
If you exceed the limit, a warning will be displayed on the certificate registration screen.

 

Method 1 (Direct Entry):

Follow the table in step 3 and enter the necessary information for certificate registration in each input field. (※ ①)

 

Method 2 (Bulk Registration):

If you wish to enter information in bulk using a file, select [Device Certificate Registration List] to download the template. (※ ②)

Follow the table in step 3, enter the required information in the file, and then upload the file by dragging and dropping or selecting it from [Upload File]. (※ ③)

The file must be created in UTF-8 character encoding.
Supported upload formats include XLS, XLSX, CSV, or TSV.

If errors occur for any reason and some certificates are not registered, select [Download List of Unregistered Certificates (CSV)] to download a list of unregistered certificates in CSV format. You can edit this list and re-upload it to extract and re-register only the incomplete registrations. (※ ④)

4. Enter the necessary information for certificate issuance.

Directly enter the information on the certificate registration screen or enter it in each column of the file, following the table below.

Enter one line for each HENNGE Device Certificate to be issued.

If issuing multiple HENNGE Device Certificates at once, enter a line for each certificate to be issued.

For some items, the item names and input values differ between direct entry on the screen and using a file.
Refer to the content under "Direct Entry:" in the table for direct entry on the screen, and refer to the content under "File:" for entering information using a file.

Item Details

Direct Entry: User Name

Files: User

 Specify the HENNGE Access Control user name for the user using the issued HENNGE Device Certificate.
※ Even when the login type is shared, you need to specify the user name.

Direct Entry: login

Files: login type

Select and enter from the following 3 types.

Personal Type

Select: Personal.
Files: personal.

Only users specified in "User" can use this.
When logging in, after selecting HENNGE Device Certificate, password input is required.

Passwordless Type

Select: Passwordless.
Files: passwordless.

Only users specified in "User" can use this.
When logging in, after selecting HENNGE Device Certificate, you can log in without entering a password.

Shared Type

Select: Shared.
Files: shared.

Can be used by multiple users.
When logging in, after selecting HENNGE Device Certificate, you will be prompted to enter the user name and password.

OS

Specify the OS of the terminal on which the issued HENNGE Device Certificate will be installed.
Select and enter from the following.

If installing on macOS

Select: MacOS.
Files: macos.

If installing on Windows

Select: Windows.
Files: windows.

If installing on iOS

Select: iOS.
Files: ios.

If installing on Android

Select: Android.
Files: android.

If installing on Chromebook

Select: ChromeBook.
Files: chromebook.
Device ID Type

The available device ID types vary depending on the OS specified in "OS".
Select and enter from the following.

If "OS" is macos

Select: MAC.
Files: mac.

If "OS" is windows

Select: MAC User.
Files: mac-user.

If "OS" is ios

Select: IMEI or UDID.
Files: imei or udid.

If "OS" is Android

Select: GUID.
Files: guid.

If "OS" is chromebook

Select: Serial.
Files: serial.
Device ID

Varies depending on the device ID type selected in "Device ID Type" above.

If "Device ID Type" is mac, MAC, or mac-user, MAC User

Enter the MAC address of the terminal where the HENNGE Device Certificate will be installed.
※ The MAC address must be registered in the form including hyphens "-" or colons ":".

If "Device ID Type" is imei, IMEI

Enter the IMEI of the terminal where the HENNGE Device Certificate will be installed.

If "Device ID Type" is udid, UDID

Enter the UDID of the terminal where the HENNGE Device Certificate will be installed.
※ If the UDID is 24 digits, you need to add a hyphen "-" at the 9th digit to make it 25 digits for registration.

If "Device ID Type" is guid, GUID

Enter the GUID displayed in the DeviceID application.

If "Device ID Type" is serial, Serial

Enter the serial number of the terminal where the HENNGE Device Certificate will be installed.
Recipient Email Address

An email containing instructions on how to install the HENNGE Device Certificate will be sent to the email address specified in this field.
Specify an address that can be received on the device where the HENNGE Device Certificate will be installed.

The "Recipient Email Address" does not need to be associated with a "user". If an administrator is installing the HENNGE Device Certificate on behalf of a user, it is also possible to specify the administrator's email address.

※ When issuing the HENNGE Device Certificate to a Chromebook, leave the Recipient Email Address blank.
Email Subject Note The content specified in this field will be inserted into the subject of the email containing instructions on how to install the HENNGE Device Certificate.
Description The content specified in this field is a custom note specified by the administrator.
This field can be edited later.
Language

Select the language for the email containing instructions on how to install the HENNGE Device Certificate.
Choose from the following 2 options and fill in:

For English

Files: Select en.
Direct Input: Select English.

For Japanese

Files: Select ja.
Direct Input: Select Japanese.

※ When issuing the HENNGE Device Certificate to a Chromebook, leave the Language field blank.

5. Verify that there are no errors in the certificate issuance information.

Check that the status on the left side of each certificate registration line is not in error.
By enabling [Display only lines with errors], you can switch to displaying only error lines.

6. Select [Register X certificates].

7. In the HENNGE Access Control Administration left menu, go to [Log Management] > [Device Cert Operations] and confirm that the "Register" status for device certificate operations is displayed.

Immediately after certificate registration, the "Status" will show as "Processing".
After the email is sent to the target email address, the "Status" will change to "Completed" as shown below.
