Configuration change for Secure Transfer (Modern) tenant

Target

  • Administrators of HENNGE Secure Transfer

Purpose

  • Explains various settings for tenants of HENNGE Secure Transfer (such as file size, security, etc.).

Notes

  1. This article is based on product specifications as of December 2024 and is subject to change without notice.
  2. If managing multiple domains, Tenant admins can make setting changes for all domains. Domain admins can make setting changes only for the domains they manage.

Procedure

1. Log in to HENNGE Secure Transfer with an administrator account.

2. Click on the menu on the left to change the settings you want.

3. On the settings screen, select the domain for which you want to change the settings from [Selected Domain], make the necessary changes, and click the [Save] button.
※ For domain admins, [Selected Domain] will not be displayed.

Items Related to Transfer Settings

Below is an overview of the menu related to transfer settings.

Name Description Notes
File Size Maximum size of files that can be uploaded in file transfers The maximum size that can be set varies depending on the contract.
File Download Restrictions Restrictions on downloading encrypted files by users and guests
  • If an encrypted file is uploaded while this is enabled, the file will not be displayed on the download screen even if accessed via URL.
  • Only ZIP, 7ZIP, RAR, and PDF files are detected as encrypted files, while the following are excluded:
Transfer Type Types of transfers users can create
  • Send and Receive: Allows both sending and receiving file transfers.
  • Send Only: Allows sending file transfers only.
  • Receive Only: Allows receiving file transfers only.

If the transfer type of a previously created file transfer does not match the updated transfer type, users will no longer be able to add files or edit links for that transfer. (Stopping links and downloading files is still possible.)
File Storage Transfer Expiration Period Expiration of files uploaded by users
  • Files will be deleted once the file transfer expiration date passes.
  • Updated settings will only apply to newly created file transfers.
File Management Behavior when users delete files
  • Enabling file archiving will archive files when users delete them.
  • Archived files can only be downloaded by the file transfer creator and administrators.
  • Archived files will not be displayed on the Guest Download page. Additionally, they are not subject to file transfer capacity and file number limits.

※ If you change the security policies, you will no longer be able to edit the security policies for past links that do not match the updated security policies from the [Transfer History] screen. (Stopping links and reactivating them is possible.)

 Email Address Verification Setting to require email address verification when downloading files
  • Required - Only restricted email addresses: Makes email address verification mandatory when transferring files to specified email addresses.
  • Required - Either restricted or all email addresses: Makes email address verification mandatory for either specified email addresses or all email addresses when transferring files.
  • Optional: Allows users to choose whether to require email address verification when transferring files.
  • Not used: Does not require email address verification when transferring files.
Password Protection for Users

Setting to require password protection when downloading files
  • Required: Makes password protection mandatory when transferring files.
  • Optional: Allows users to choose whether to use password protection when transferring files.
  • Not used: Does not require password protection when transferring files.
Password Length Minimum number of characters for passwords -
Password Characters Types of characters allowed in passwords

* Symbols that can be used include the following (excluding spaces):
~!@#$%^&*()_+`-=|[]\:";'<>?,./
* If all checkboxes are unchecked, passwords generated automatically will use "Upper case letters, lower case letters, and numbers".
Download Limit Maximum number of times a guest can download a file uploaded using the "Send" function * Users can change the download count for each file transfer, up to the set value.
Expiration Limit Set the maximum value for the expiration period of generated file transfer URLs * Users can change the value for each generated URL, up to the set value.
Guest Consent Screen [Active / Inactive] for the guest consent screen and changing the message displayed on the consent screen * If used as a GDPR consent screen, refer to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance.
* This setting is not mandatory.

Overview of the menu for account settings is as follows:

  • Email Address: Displays the user's email address.
  • Username: Displays the user's username.
  • Role: Displays the role assigned to the user.

User Login Restrictions Only users with administrator rights can log in to HENNGE Secure Transfer * Displayed only when authenticated by Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace.
Group Login Restrictions Restrict users to specified groups in Google Workspace * Displayed only when using Google Workspace.
