[ver.2]Email sending limits on HENNGE Email DLP service

for G Suite / for Office 365

 

To keep the systems stable, the HENNGE Email DLP service has the following sending limits per tenant as well as per user.
The limits are equally applied regardless of the service you are using (G Suite/Office 365) and the email destination (Internal destination/External destination.)
If a user or tenant exceeds the email sending limits, an error message will appear on G Suite/Office365 from the 
Email DLP service.

Error Message Status Cause Limits
   450       Peak SMTP relay limit exceeded     Temporary Error                   A sender address sends emails to over 600 recipients per 10 minutes window.(*1) If a user exceeds the limit, messages will be temporarily rejected on the Email DLP service and the temporary error will be appear on G Suite/Office365. Once the state is back to normal, the limit will be removed.    
550 Daily SMTP relay limit exceeded  Permanent Error A sender address sends emails to over 10,000 recipients per day. (24 hours window)(*1)

If a user exceeds the limit, messages will be rejected on the Email DLP service and the permanent error will be responded to G Suite/Office365. Once the state is back to normal, the limit will be automatically removed. 

450 Our system has detected an unusual rate of unsolicited mail originating from you. To protect our users from spam, mail sent from you has been blocked temporarily.  Temporary Error Detecting a large amount of emails sent by a sender address. Messages will be temporarily rejected on the Email DLP service and a re-sending request will be sent to G Suite/Office365. Once the state is back to normal, the limit will be automatically removed.
450 Our system has detected an unusual rate of unsolicited mail originating from your organization. To protect our users from spam, mail sent from your organization has been blocked temporarily.  Temporary Error

Detecting a large amount of emails sent by a tenant.

Messages will be temporarily rejected on the Email DLP service and a re-sending request will be sent to G Suite/Office365. Once the state is back to normal, the limit will be automatically removed.

In addition, in a case where there is a possibility to affect other tenants or lead a service down by continuing the status.
Messages will be rejected on the Email DLP service and the permanent error will be sent to G Suite/Office365. Once the large amount of emails are stopped to come and the state is back to normal, the limit will be automatically removed.
550 Our system has detected an unusual rate of unsolicited mail originating from your organization. To protect our users from spam, mail sent from your organization has been blocked.  Permanent Error

Messages will be rejected to deliver on the Email DLP service and the permanent error will be sent to G Suite/Office365. Once the large amount of emails are stopped to come and the state is back to normal, the limit will be automatically removed.

In addition, in a case where there is a possibility to affect other tenants by causing a lot of undeliverable emails. (*2)

Messages will be rejected to deliver on the Email DLP service and the permanent error will be sent to G Suite/Office365.
Kindly reconsider the delivery method or recipient addresses.

Messages will be rejected to deliver on the Email DLP service and the permanent error will be sent to G Suite/Office365.

(*1)The HENNGE Email DLP service analyzes an email per recipient. For example, if three recipients are set in an email, that will be counted as three destinations.

(*2) In the case where a user sends a large amount of emails, email service providers (including G Suite, Office 365, mobile carriers and web emails) and anti-spam email organizations (such as information providers of RBL) may black-list the sender IP address as spam. Because of this, emails sent by other users or tenants may be impacted, and that is why this safety feature is implemented.
