Question
I am using Secure Browser, and the old login screen has been switched to a "new login screen." Please tell me about the changes, impact, and the new login procedure.
Answer
When using the new login screen in Secure Browser, the following three changes will apply to both PC and smart devices.
For future feature expansion and security maintenance, it has become necessary to update the underlying system used by the old login screen.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to some customers.
This specification change is intended to provide a safer environment, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
For detailed procedures and impact, please refer to the following items.
- Login Flow Changes (PC)
- Login Flow Changes (Smart Devices)
- Changes to Username and Password Saving Behavior
Details / Impact
Login Flow Changes (PC)
- When you launch Secure Browser, your default web browser will automatically open and display the new login screen.
- Enter your login ID (formerly called UserPrincipalName or Email Address) and proceed with login.
* If login information is already saved in your browser, you will see a screen showing you are already logged in. -
After completing login in the browser, a popup may appear prompting you to return (redirect) to the Secure Browser app.
Click "Open Link" to start using Secure Browser.
(* Please manually close the web browser window used for login if necessary.)
Login Flow Changes (Smart Devices)
- When you launch the app, a popup will appear prompting you to sign in.
Tap "Resume" to start the login process. - After migrating to the new login screen, please enter your login ID and log in the first time you use it.
- From the second time onward, your login ID will be saved, so you can log in simply by tapping the displayed account information.
Changes to Username and Password Saving Behavior
With the new login screen, the login mechanism will transition to using the OS standard secure authentication system.
As a result, the following features previously provided will no longer be available.
- The ability to allow or deny "Save username" within the app
-
The ability to allow or deny "Save password" within the app
Going forward, usernames and passwords will not be saved within the Secure Browser app, but instead will be saved by the OS standard browser functionality (depending on your OS standard browser settings).
Recommended Action
With this change, we recommend that you enable the "Force PIN lock" feature in Browser Policy Groups from the Administration.
Even if the login ID or password is saved on the OS side, requiring a passcode when launching the app can help prevent unauthorized use.
