Target
Customers who synchronize users between Entra ID and Access Control
Overview
Starting May 26, 2026, the synchronization specifications will be updated as follows.
- A limit will be set on the number of users processed during the hourly scheduled synchronization.
- The synchronization capacity will be set to a maximum total of 2,500 users per hour, with a cap of 500 users per single sync process.
Details
To ensure stable system operation and proper log management, we are establishing a synchronization limit of 2,500 users per hour.
*For load balancing purposes, the system will internally split the process into batches of a maximum of 500 users per sync run within the hour (taking up to 11 minutes per run).
Previously, the synchronization process operated on a best-effort basis ("processing as much as possible within the given time"). We are changing this specification to resolve the following issues and to ensure a more reliable operation.
Background and Objectives
- Resolving Log Transmission Errors:
- Previously, when syncing a massive number of users, logs would occasionally fail to display correctly due to high system load.
- By introducing a synchronization limit, all processes and log displays will now be executed reliably.
New Specifications
- Introduction of Sync Volume Cap: The synchronization process will be split into up to 5 batches within a one-hour window, with a limit of 500 users per batch.
- Sync Cycle: The scheduled synchronization interval remains unchanged at once per hour. However, the execution will now be divided into batches of a maximum of 500 users per run.
Changes to Sync Logs
- If the total number of synced users exceeds 500, logs will be split and displayed separately for each individual batch process (up to 500 users / up to 11 minutes per run).
This update prioritizes achieving a "reliable and predictable synchronization process." We greatly appreciate your understanding.
