Details of DNS
PCs and servers with the agent or client installed are assigned an FQDN with the Runetale network name (rtnet).
- (Example FQDN) Servername.runea0b2c3d4.rt.net
You can check the Runetale network name from [DNS] in the Administration.
Because it is automatically added to the DNS suffix search list, hosts connected to the Runetale network can communicate using only the host name.
On the other hand, PCs and servers that connect to the Runetale network via subnet linker without installing the agent or client are not assigned a Runetale network name.
Therefore, to resolve the host names of these PCs and servers, you need to register the internal DNS server as Split DNS.
Details of Split DNS
Split DNS is a feature that queries a specified DNS server, such as an internal domain controller, for name resolution of specified domains.
For example, if you configure Split DNS as shown below, name resolution for hennge.local will be performed on the Mesh Network, while all other communication will continue to use the existing internet route.

Domains registered in Split DNS are also automatically added to the DNS suffix search list, allowing name resolution for domains registered on the Runetale network.
