Create a New User (Modern View)

Target

Administrators who perform initial setup and operational management of HENNGE Access Control are the target audience for the content of this article.

Purpose

To register new users in the HENNGE Access Control management screen's modern view.

Notes

1. The content of this article is based on product specifications as of April 2024 and may be subject to change without notice.

2. Access to the actual screens and making settings requires administrator privileges for HENNGE Access Control.

3. For instructions on accessing the management screen, please refer to the following article.

4. If you are synchronizing users from Active Directory to HENNGE Access Control, this operation is not necessary.

Detailed Explanation / Procedure

1. Creating Users Individually

1.1. Access the HENNGE Access Control management screen.

1.2. Access the left menu [Users] - [User List] in the HENNGE Access Control management screen.

1.3. Select [ + Add User ] at the top right.

1.4. Enter the necessary information (described below) and click [ Submit ].

3. Information Required for User Registration

The following information needs to be confirmed and prepared in advance for user registration.

3.1. Username

A unique value used to identify users in HENNGE Access Control.
It is also the value that users enter at the HENNGE Access Control login screen.
Usernames can be up to 64 characters and can include the following strings:
・Half-width English letters (a-z, A-Z)
・Half-width numbers (0-9)
・Underscore (_)
・Dash (-)
・Period (.)
・At sign (@)

3.2. Initial Password

The password used by users at their first login.
Note that passwords set by administrators are not subject to the Password Policy.

3.3. Password Expiry

The expiration period for users' initial passwords.

・Force Password Change: Requires password change at the next login.

・Unlimited: No expiration is set for passwords.
・Domain Setting: Follows the expiration settings within [ Password-related Settings ] in [ Domain Settings ] if account provisioning or password provisioning is enabled.

3.4. Last Name

The user's last name.
Up to 256 characters can be set.

3.5. First Name

The user's first name.
Up to 256 characters can be set.

3.6. (Only when integrating with Microsoft 365) Display Name

The user's display name.
Up to 256 characters can be set.

3.7. (Only when integrating with Microsoft 365) UserPrincipalName

Set the same value as the user name (UserPrincipalName) in Microsoft 365 for this user.

3.8. (Only when integrating with Google Workspace) Email Address (SAML UID)

Set the same value as the email address in Google Workspace for this user.

3.9. (Only when integrating with Google Workspace) Google Provisioning

Set whether to provision to Google Workspace for creating, editing, and deleting this user, when account provisioning or password provisioning is enabled in [Domain Settings].

・Target: If account provisioning in domain settings is [Enabled], selecting [Target] in this item will create users in Google Workspace.
・Excluded: Even if account provisioning in domain settings is [Enabled], selecting [Excluded] in this item will not create users in Google Workspace.

Please note that this item cannot be selected for bulk registration via TSV and all users will be created as [Included].
If you want to set it as [Excluded], please edit each user from the edit screen after bulk registration via TSV.

3.10. Custom Attributes

If [Custom Attributes] have already been created, editing this item is possible.
Up to 256 characters can be set.

3.11. Role

Setting the permissions for accessing the HENNGE Access Control management screen.

3.12. Self-Password Reset

Set when enabling the self-password function, specifying the email address for self-password reset by the administrator.
※If users are to set their email addresses, please set them individually from [Password Settings] - [Setting Password Reset Method] in the user portal.

3.13. Emergency OTP Token

Administrators can issue emergency OTP tokens.
It is possible to set any value, but it is not possible to issue and use multiple emergency OTP tokens with the same value.

3.14. Access Policy Group

Specify the access policy group to which the user belongs.

3.15. Allowed Service Providers

For services for which single sign-on settings have been made in [Service Provider Settings], you can set whether to allow the use of this user.
Additionally, for services for which link settings have been made in [Service Provider Settings], you can set whether to display a link to this user's HENNGE Access Control user portal.
