All emails sent and received by accounts with a mailbox in Microsoft 365 are subject to archiving.

Emails Subject to Archiving
- Internal → Internal sent emails
- Internal → External sent emails
- External → Internal received emails
- Internal → Mailing list (after distribution)
- External → Mailing list (after distribution)
- Automatically forwarded emails
Emails Not Subject to Archiving
- Internal → Internal received emails (already captured on the sending route)
- Internal → Mailing list (before distribution)
- External → Mailing list (before distribution)
- Emails rejected by Exchange Online
- Microsoft Teams chat history
