- Customers using Email Archive with Microsoft 365
Purpose
- This document explains the settings required for archiving emails sent and received from Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) to Email Archive.
Notes
- The content of this article is based on the product as of October 2025 and may change without notice thereafter.
- Two [Journal Rules] will be created during this connection process.
If there is a shortage in the number of rules that can be created, adjustments will be necessary. - If the following settings already exist, please send screenshots of the settings before this connection process to our company.

・[Exchange Admin Center] - [Mail Flow] - [Rules]
・[Exchange Admin Center] - [Mail Flow] - [Connectors]
[Microsoft 365 Admin Center] - [Microsoft Purview]
・ [Solutions] - [Data Lifecycle Management] - [Exchange (Legacy)] - [Journal Rules] - Ensure that the latest domain information on the Microsoft 365 side is registered with HENNGE.
Especially, if the domain set as the "Default Domain" on the Microsoft 365 side is not registered with HENNGE, the Email Archive may not function correctly, and archiving may fail.

I want to add a domain in use
Procedure
- Open Microsoft Purview.
- Click [Settings] - [Data Lifecycle Management] - [Exchange (Legacy)].
- Enter "ndr@journal.hdemail.jp" in [Undeliverable Journal Report Recipient] and save.
- Click [Solutions] - [Data Lifecycle Management] - [Exchange (Legacy)] - [Journal Rules] - [New Rule].
- Enter the following information:
- [Journal Report Recipient]: Please refer to the Customer Portal [サービス一覧(Service List)]-[HENNGE Email Archive]-[接続設定値(Connection Values)]
[Customer Portal] Checking the List of HENNGE One Services - [Journal Rule Name]: "HENNGE Journal Rule 1"
- [Journal Message Sender or Recipient]: All Users
- [Type of Messages to Journal]: All Messages
- [Journal Report Recipient]: Please refer to the Customer Portal [サービス一覧(Service List)]-[HENNGE Email Archive]-[接続設定値(Connection Values)]
- After completing the above input, click [Next].
- Review the content and click [Submit].
- Click [Solutions] - [Data Lifecycle Management] - [Exchange (Legacy)] - [Journal Rules] - [New Rule].
- Enter the following information:
- [Journal Report Recipient]: Please refer to the Customer Portal [サービス一覧(Service List)]-[HENNGE Email Archive]-[接続設定値(Connection Values)]
[Customer Portal] Checking the List of HENNGE One Services - [Journal Rule Name]: "HENNGE Journal Rule 2"
- [Journal Message Sender or Recipient]: All Users
- [Type of Messages to Journal]: All Messages
- [Journal Report Recipient]: Please refer to the Customer Portal [サービス一覧(Service List)]-[HENNGE Email Archive]-[接続設定値(Connection Values)]
- After completing the above input, click [Next].
- Review the content and click [Submit].
