For Google Workspace.
Will emails got automatically transferred based on Gmail filtering settings be filtered?
Answer:
As long as emails are not directly delivered from Google Workspace to the Internet, the emails will be filtered.
There are 3 setting ways that result in different behaviour.
Please refer to the following details.
*Please note that the following behaviour is based on the current Google Workspace specification.
The behaviour may be changed in the future without notice.
1. Gmail User Settings [Forwarding and POP/IMAP]
You can configure a forwarding address with the following steps.
Go to [Geer icon] > [Settings] > [Forwarding and POP/IMAP] at the upper right corner on your Gmail page.
Since emails are delivered based on the settings, the emails will be gone through our service
and filtered.
2. Gmail User Settings [Filters and Blocked Addresses]
You can configure a forwarding address with the following steps.
Go to [Geer icon] > [Settings] > [Filters and Blocked Addresses] at the upper right corner on your Gmail page.
Select the filter you want to set a forwarding address and click on "edit".
You can then configure a forwarding address to the "Forward it to" section on the second page.
Since emails are delivered based on the settings, the emails will be gone through our service
and filtered. (The same as No. 1)
3. Email Forwarding Settings on Admin Console (Google Workspace administrator privilege is required)
You can configure a forwarding address with the following steps.
Go to [Geer icon]> [Manage this domain] >[Setting for Gmail] >[Advanced Settings].
You can find the "Routing" section in "General Settings" tab.
Emails are directly delivered to the Internet regardless the forwarding settings.(Google Workspace specification)
Therefore the emails will be delivered without going through our service and will not be filtered.
