We have confirmed that Microsoft is currently notifying Microsoft 365 users to enable the security default settings and make Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) settings mandatory.
This article provides guidance on the impact on HENNGE Access Control usage and the necessary response to this matter.
Overview of the Notification from Microsoft 365
Guidance has been provided to automatically enable the "security default settings" of Microsoft 365 tenants in environments using legacy authentication protocols, and as a result, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) settings for Microsoft 365 / Entra ID are now mandatory.
Impact on HENNGE Access Control Usage
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Microsoft 365 occurs after authentication is completed by HENNGE Access Control. Therefore, it does not affect the authentication process of HENNGE Access Control.
Response in HENNGE Access Control
There is no need for any response on the part of HENNGE Access Control.

Setting up Multi-Factor Authentication for Microsoft 365 (Entra ID) in the HENNGE Lock App
1. Access Microsoft 365 on your PC's web browser and open the multi-factor authentication setup screen in the authentication app
2. Select the "Use a different authentication app" link within the screen displaying the Microsoft Authenticator app download instructions
3. Click Next and confirm that the QR code is displayed
4. Launch the HENNGE Lock app and select "Add OTP" from the menu
5. Scan the QR code displayed in step 3 with the HENNGE Lock app
6. Click Next on the Microsoft 365 multi-factor authentication setup screen and confirm that the screen for entering the verification code is displayed
7. Enter the 6-digit code displayed in the HENNGE Lock app into the Microsoft 365 authentication code input screen and click the confirmation button
