Question
When synchronizing users from Active Directory to Access Control, is it possible to directly create individual users in the Access Control Administration who do not exist in Active Directory?
Answer
The availability depends on the configuration of the Active Directory synchronization tool. Please refer to the following.
Please check the config.ini file for HENNGE One Directory Sync. The file path is usually as follows:
C:¥Program Files¥HDE One Directory Sync¥config.iniIf there is a line such as "domain=xxx" (not commented out) under [global] in the config.ini file
* "xxx" indicates the domain targeted for user synchronization.
* If ";;" is at the beginning of the line, it is commented out.
If the user has a UPN (UserPrincipalName) with a different domain from the users synchronized from Active Directory, you can create the user individually and directly in the Access Control Administration.
[Access Control] Create / Edit New User
However, if you create a user in the Access Control Administration with the same domain as those synchronized from Active Directory, the user will be detected as not existing in Active Directory during synchronization and will be deleted (disabled).
Therefore, if you want to create a user for a domain that is synchronized from Active Directory, you must create the user on the Active Directory side and have it created in Access Control through synchronization.
If creating users in Access Control who do not exist in Active Directory is expected to exceed your licensed user count, please contact your reseller from whom you purchased your HENNGE One license, or contact HENNGE using the information below.
